Global Account Director

A large global value-added manufacturer of ingredients and flavors used by a wide array of well-known food & beverage companies is hiring a Global Account Director. Company is a market leader in the Food & Beverage space with a lengthy and proven track-record of growth

  •   Commercial P&L ownership & delivery against key performance measure aligned to company’s growth pillars of Taste, Preservation, Pro-active Health, Plant Based    solutions.


  •   Peer to Peer and across Channel team communication and leadership to drive a leading strategy, insights sharing & execution approach 

  •   Commercial contract & long-term supply and innovation agreements ownership and negotiation to manage margin and create clear avenues for profitability

  •   Directly owning and building senior level relationships across stakeholder functions at Starbucks and internally with the key senior leader’s cross-functionally

  •   Deliver on a pipeline of sustainable growth for company through a deep understanding of customers and their business strategies, their back of house operations,      functional & technical requirements and delivery of a business review process and framework that drives Customer Experience

  • Develop and execute commercial strategies through the framework of robust account planning

  • Proactive focus of pipeline development & execution that builds a margin appropriate project pipeline delivering year on year and long-term growth platforms

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, food sciences or other related field. MBA is an asset 
  • 10 years experience in sales and at least 5 years in a Sales leadership position 
  • Flavors Industry experience is an important asset 
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing sales strategies, business plans, forecast and budgeting 
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills; Collaborative working style  
  • Have a reputation of a passionate person, coach and strong team builder 
  • Should have knowledge of commonly used sales concepts, practices and procedures, particularly trade spend  
  • Superior business acumen 
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and CRM database software  
  • Frequent travel required of 30-40%. The position could be based from home in Seattle. Must be in the Seattle area or willing to move.

What You’ll Do:

Responsibilities:

  • Drive sales strategies and develop the sales team in a smaller, robust flavor company while handling 2-3 customer accounts.
  • Coach and lead development in skills for the sales team so they can perform at optimum level and drive market penetration.
  • Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the sales concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Develops Senior level relationships at customers.
  • Professionally leads, manages and communicates customer expectations and needs. 
  • Understands the competitive environment and utilizes knowledge to leverage opportunities and develop strategic customer action plans

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree or equivalent related experience and/or training;
  • Work Experience: 15 plus years of selling flavors or key ingredients to the food and beverage industry;

  • Strong relationships and experience in sales
  • Strong Senior-level (Director and above) relationships with customers
  • Strong relationships skills across both technical and procurement professionals are essential;
  • Should be a highly motivated, self starter who is a forward-thinking problem solver with excellent coaching skills and strong work ethic.

Basic Responsibilities:

Travel: Approximately 20-40% depending on your locaition, but must live in either Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, or Oklahoma

Business Development Director

POSITION OBJECTIVE: 

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the Business Development Director is responsible for servicing customers in respective territory by increasing sales in territory by delivering customized flavor solutions that meet the customer needs.

Senior Sales Director

The Senior Sales Director role holds full accountability for leading and directing all sales efforts for the Snacks sales team in N. America. The role will drive the development and execution of the commercial go to market strategy and will be accountable for delivering sustainable top line growth to the business with new and existing customers through an existing team of dedicated Sales professionals. The role will work collaboratively with the activation marketing, business development and RD&A teams to bring leading innovation and solutions to customers. This role is a key commercial leadership position and will be expected to develop talent for future success.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of account managers with commercial responsibility and leadership across a defined customer base in North America 
  • Commercial P&L ownership & delivery against key performance measure aligned to company’s growth pillars

Experience/Skills Required for the Role:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution required with preference in Business, Communications, Food Science, Chemistry or related discipline 
  • 10+ years progressively responsible, post baccalaureate experience in related Sales, technical or R&D roles within a food company 
  • Experience in F&B industry, with existing relationships within retail categories: nutritional bars, nutritional beverage, snacks and dairy 
  • Experience with building deep customer relationships and converting those relationships into increased sales, innovation and top line growth 
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders – employees, customers, peers, the board, external associations
